We’ve all been sleeping on this TINY Greenfield pizza place that gives Fiori’s and Mineo’s a run for their money.
I heard about this place when @kreationsbykittles recommended it. Seriously thank goodness she did because this is a life-changer for me. It’s tucked in the heart of Greenfield, so I plan to hit it up A LOT on my way home from work (in Homestead). If you live in Squirrel Hill or anywhere near the Waterfront, YOU NEED TO GO HEEEEERE. If you don’t live nearby…make the trip.
It’s a tiny, takeout only, cash only, hole-in-the-wall. This article from the Trib gave me some background on their history. I’m assuming I talked to Carmine or Vince -unfortunately I didn’t get a name. He was the only person there, and we chatted about the weather until my pizza was ready. He was so nice!
I don’t think Conicella’s has ANY online presence, so it kind of breaks my heart that Carmine/Vince May never know how obsessed with their pizza I am now. 😥
As a heads up, all the pictures of their menu floating around on the internet are from a few years ago, so the prices aren’t up to date. The large cheese pizza I got was $13. (Which is still super reasonable!)
Ok, but time to talk about their ‘za:
Soooo cheesy. Honestly (getting controversial here) I like this place better than Mineo’s, and I think it’s on the same level as Fiori’s…it’s like Fiori’s ~indie~, underground cousin. The sauce was amazing and I legit ate 2 slices in my car on my way home because I couldn’t wait (worth the greasy mess).
Moral of story=I live for recommendations so PLEASE tell me about your favorite pizza place by commenting below or emailing me!
